The Pumas are a South African rugby team that participates in the annual tournament of the Currie Cup. They play out of the Puma Stadium in Witbank, also known as Johann van Riebeeck Stadium, and draw their players from the Mpumalanga province formerly pumas shoes known as the south-eastern Transvaal (Afrikaans Suid Oos Transvaal). The Pumas are often seen as the underdogs of South African rugby, but have also been proclaimed dark horses sometimes. In 2006, coached jointly by Chris Goble and Danie Gerber.
